Job summary

MTA Construction & Development is seeking an Assistant Director, Project Controls in New York to provide oversight for cost, schedule, and risk management across major capital projects. This role reports to the Director, Project Controls and influences policy changes with senior management.

The incumbent leads project controls activities, supports program baselines, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize delivery, improve performance, and ensure value for money while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.
• Minimum of four (4) years in a management or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization.
• Experience in project management or project controls with highly complex systems is preferred.
• Proven ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director/Business Unit & project leadership in providing proactive cost, schedule, and risk management support to the Program Director and Technical Services concerning optimizing projects and defining appropriate plan, cost, and risk Project Baselines.
• Provide independent oversight of project delivery performance relative to Project and Contract Baselines and apply effective project control practices.
• Provide input during the Select-Phase stage to optimize project configuration and establish schedule, cost, and risk baselines.
• Lead front-end-loading activities to identify opportunities to mitigate risk and maximize value.
• Oversee project delivery performance against baselines and ensure appropriate project control practices are applied.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes; analyze decisions and outcomes.
