Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking an Assistant Director, Project Controls in New York, NY. The role supports proactive cost, schedule, and risk management for capital projects within Construction & Development, Delivery/Systems, reporting to the Director, Project Controls.

Telework is available one day per week, with occasional after-hours and travel as needed. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and at least eight years of related experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
• Minimum eight (8) years of related experience.
• Minimum four (4) years in a management or supervisory role in a large, multi-faceted organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director/Business Unit & project leadership with proactive cost, schedule, and risk management to optimize project baselines.
• Provide independent oversight of delivery performance relative to baselines and apply effective project control practices.
• Contribute input during the Select-Phase to optimize configuration and establish baselines for schedule, cost, and risk.
• Lead front-end-loading to identify opportunities to reduce delivery risk and maximize value.
• Oversee delivery performance and ensure project control practices are applied.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.
• Work with Agency and Development to resolve complex issues.
