Job summary

South Shore Health in Massachusetts is seeking an Executive Director of Laboratory Services to provide strategic and operational leadership across the organization’s laboratory functions, including core laboratory, microbiology, blood bank, and pathology partnerships.

You will drive quality, regulatory compliance, and financial performance, lead workforce development, and partner with clinical and executive leaders to align laboratory services with patient care goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences preferred.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Laboratory Management or related field preferred.
• Five (5) years progressive experience in clinical laboratory operations, CAP accredited preferred.
• Three (3) years in administrative management role preferred.
• MT or MLS or MT/MLS (ASCP Equivalent) required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee core laboratory operations across multiple sites.
• Ensure service quality, turnaround times, and staffing adequacy.
• Lead strategic planning and expansion of laboratory services.
• Direct quality, regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness.
• Manage budgets and financial performance.
• Develop workforce and leadership succession.
