Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking an Executive Director of Laboratory Services to provide strategic, operational, financial and regulatory leadership across all laboratory operations. The role oversees phlebotomy, pathology partnerships, and workforce development while ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and state/federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related sciences preferred.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Laboratory Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in clinical laboratory operations, preferably in a CAP accredited laboratory.
• Three (3) years in administrative management role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic and operational leadership for all laboratory services across South Shore Health.
• Leads quality, regulatory compliance and accreditation activities (CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission).
• Directs financial management including budgets, cost-per-test, and reimbursement optimization.
• Oversees workforce development, succession planning, and performance management.
• Partners with medical directors and executive leadership on strategic initiatives and enterprise growth.
• Promotes continuous improvement and high reliability within laboratory operations.
