Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking an Executive Director of Laboratory Services to provide strategic, operational, financial, and regulatory leadership for all laboratory services across the health system. The role ensures high-quality, patient-centered lab operations, workforce development, and compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission and state/federal regs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences preferred.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Laboratory Management or related field preferred.
• Five+ years progressive experience in clinical laboratory operations, CAP accredited preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations across core lab, microbiology, blood bank, anatomic pathology, histology/cytology, specimen processing, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and ambulatory labs.
• Lead strategy, quality, regulatory compliance, and accreditation readiness.
• Develop and manage budgets; monitor revenue, expenses, and cost-per-test; drive continuous improvement.
