Marqeta, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Sales (Financial Services) to lead a team selling multi-product payments solutions to F1000 clients.

The role combines strategic pipeline development with hands-on team leadership and enterprise-level relationship management. You will drive revenue growth by expanding the existing portfolio, partnering with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success, and staying ahead of payments industry trends.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of Enterprise Technology sales and account management experience in payments.
• 5+ years of leading teams of AEs & AMs with measurable success.
• Experience selling complex multi-product technology platforms to enterprise clients.
• Industry expertise in Payments, Retail, Fintech and Banking; able to influence in complex situations.
• Track record of YoY new logo bookings and in-year revenue growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 5+ Account Executives and Account Managers targeting F1000 customers.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to hit revenue targets and grow the customer base.
• Identify and engage key decision-makers in enterprise organizations.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success to align on customer needs.
• Maintain deep understanding of Marqeta’s solutions and clearly communicate value to clients.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and manage the pipeline.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and customer pain points to refine strategies.
• Influence GTM strategy, hiring, culture, and processes to build a high-performing team.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Vetting, Delivery, GNSO, Sales Strategy and Operations, Banking Partnerships and other teams.
