Capital One is seeking a Senior Director of AI Engineering for the Agentic AI Platform. This role leads cross‑functional teams to design and deploy scalable AI systems that power real‑time customer experiences.

You will oversee foundation model training, inference, and optimization across Open Source and SaaS stacks, ensure responsible AI practices, and align enterprise strategy with ethical principles. Remote eligible with hybrid options; Capital One emphasizes mentorship, growth, and building

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/AI or related field plus 10+ years AI/ML experience or
• Master's degree plus 8+ years AI/ML experience; leadership experience needed.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams and delivering AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver AI‑powered products.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment and support of AI components.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI tech.
• Drive foundation model optimization for scale, cost, latency, and throughput.
• Define long-term AI infrastructure roadmap and foster responsible AI practices.
