Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Staff AI Engineer to lead and evolve AI platforms and production systems. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers to ship responsible AI capabilities, including foundation model training, inference, and governance across the enterprise.

You will mentor technical leaders, drive scalable architectures, and ensure safety and transparency in AI deployments, with remote eligibility and national scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in CS/AI/EE or related field with extensive AI/ML experience.
• 10+ years (or 8+ years with a Master’s) building AI/ML systems and algorithms.
• Strong Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products at Capital One.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation models and inference.
• Lead architecture vision, governance, observability, and safety standards for AI systems.
