Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Staff AI Engineer for the Agentic AI Platform. The role focuses on building responsible AI systems, foundation models, and agentic workflows with a strong emphasis on safety, governance, and scalability across Capital One’s enterprise AI stack.

You will mentor engineers, shape long-term AI infrastructure strategies, and collaborate with research and product teams to deliver high-impact AI capabilities in a remote-eligible setup.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms or technologies.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA or Java with strong software design skills.
• Experience with Open Source and SaaS AI tools such as PyTorch, HuggingFace, VectorDBs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products for associates and customers.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation models and agents.
• Lead AI architecture vision and multi-year platform initiatives across data, compute and model lifecycles.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence stakeholders up to executive levels.
