Job summary
Capital One seeks a Senior Director, AI Engineering to lead the Agentic AI Platform. You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and program managers to deliver AI-powered products and govern a scalable AI stack including LLM inference and guardrails.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/AI/EE/CE with 8–10+ years in AI/ML.
- Proven leadership of engineering teams and projects.
- Strong communication and strategic thinking in AI.
- Experience with enterprise AI platforms and governance.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
- Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI components.
- Make build-vs-buy decisions across OSS and SaaS AI tech.
- Drive foundation model optimization for scalability and cost.
- Contribute to long-term AI platform roadmap and governance.
- Foster talent development and a culture of learning.
- Define enterprise AI strategy aligning product, risk, and data teams.
- Establish multi-year roadmaps for scalable, compliant AI systems.
- Champion Responsible-AI and ethical model practices.
- Scale AI operations across hundreds of production use cases.
