Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or 6 months of work experience.
• Preferred: Six months of experience working with people who have mental health/IDD.
• Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
• Experience implementing behavior programs for persons with intellectual developmental disabilities.
• Experience writing reports.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct care and support services to individuals.
• Implements habilitation and rehabilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, mealtime plans, and treatment programs.
• Encourages individuals to attend activities and remains engaged with residents.
• Provides guidance to new DSPs and may serve as shift/team lead when the DSP IV Lead/Charge is not on duty.
• Maintains safety, assists with transportation, and follows infection control and reporting procedures.
