Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Richmond, TX is seeking a Direct Support Professional III to join a team delivering high-quality care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Richmond State Supported Living Center.

You will provide direct care, support daily living activities, document progress, and participate in person-centered plans while following safety and training protocols. This role offers stable hours, shift options, and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or 6 months of work experience.
• Six months of experience with people who have mental health/ID disabilities preferred.
• Experience as a DSP.
• Experience implementing behavior programs for people with ID.
• Experience writing reports.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular basis and may be scheduled for specific shifts.
• Performs direct care and support services to individuals.
• Implements habilitation and rehabilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, and treatment plans.
• Participates in development and execution of person-centered treatment plans.
• Provides feedback on progress to the IDT and documents changes.
• Ensures healthcare needs are addressed under supervision and conducts CPR if needed.
