Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in Austin is seeking a Direct Support Professional III to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Austin State Supported Living Center. Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or 6 months of work experience.
• Six months of experience working with people who have mental health/IDD.
• Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).

Responsibilities

• Direct care and support services to individuals. Implements habilitation and rehabilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, mealtime plans, and treatment programs.
• Administers first aid and CPR in emergencies and assists with medication administration.
• Documents individuals' participation and progress for communication with staff.
• Provides guidance to new DSPs and may act as shift/team lead when the DSP IV Lead/Charge is not on duty.
