Eaton is seeking a Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer Specialist for a hybrid role near Raleigh, NC. On-site 3 days weekly with relocation assistance; H1B sponsorship may be provided.

You will design real-time DSP algorithms for high-power UPS systems and energy storage products, collaborating in a global, multi-disciplinary team. The role emphasizes concept-to-production in power electronics, control theory, MATLAB/Simulink simulations, and testing across lab environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years real-time digital controls experience
• MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years real-time controls experience or PhD with 2+ years
• H1B sponsorship available for qualified candidates in the USA

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting customer requirements and Eaton commitments
• Guide and lead technical project team members
• Collaborate with global product development to solve performance, safety, reliability and quality issues
• Develop DSP control algorithms for power conversion products
• Create simulations in MATLAB/Simulink and validate designs
• Validate designs with real-time simulations and HIL testbeds
• Interface with cross-functional teams on new product development projects
• Lead product development using new Technologies from Eaton COEs/ERLs
• Analyze and test control software in UPS and power quality products
