Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is seeking a Specialist Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer to join a hybrid team near Raleigh, NC. On-site 3 days weekly, relocation assistance available within the US. H1B sponsorship is offered for eligible candidates.

You will design real-time DSP controls for high-power UPS systems and energy storage, with MATLAB/Simulink tooling and OPAL‑RT validation, working with global teams on product life cycle decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of real-time digital controls and algorithms for power electronics or industrial products.
• MS in Electrical or related Engineering with 5+ years of experience in real-time digital controls and algorithms for power electronics or industrial products.
• PhD in Electrical or related engineering with 2+ years of experience in real-time digital controls and algorithms for power electronics or industrial products.
• H1B visa transfer sponsorship available for qualified candidates currently residing and employed on a H1B in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting customer requirements and Eaton safety, quality, reliability, cost and schedule commitments.
• Provide guidance and leadership to other technical project team members.
• Work with global product development teams to solve problems related to performance, functionality, safety, reliability, quality and component availability.
• Develop mathematical models and algorithms for advanced DSP controls of electronic power conversion products.
• Develop simulations using MATLAB/Simulink and verify control designs through simulations.
• Validate designs using real-time simulation systems such as OPAL‑RT and through HIL testing.
