Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is seeking a Specialist Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer for a hybrid Raleigh, NC role. You will design, develop, and validate real-time DSP controls for high-power UPS systems and energy storage products.

Responsibilities include modeling, simulations, and cross-functional collaboration to meet performance, safety, and reliability targets while leveraging MATLAB/Simulink and OPAL-RT. Relocation support available within the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years in real-time digital controls for power electronics
• MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in real-time digital controls for power electronics
• PhD in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years in real-time digital controls for power electronics

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting customer requirements and Eaton standards
• Provide guidance and leadership to cross-functional project teams
• Collaborate with global product development teams to solve performance, safety, and reliability issues
• Develop mathematical models and algorithms for advanced DSP controls
• Validate designs via simulations and real-time tests (MATLAB/Simulink, OPAL-RT)
• Apply controls theory to achieve target performance in UPS and energy storage products
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies within the team
