Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division seeks a Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer Specialist. This hybrid role sits near Raleigh, NC, with on-site work 3 days per week; relocation support is available within the US. H1B sponsorship is offered if needed.

You will design real‑time DSP algorithms for high‑power three‑phase UPS and related products, leveraging MATLAB/Simulink, OPAL‑RT and C/C++ within a global, multi‑disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of real-time digital controls experience.
• MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in real-time controls.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years in real-time digital controls.
• If needed H1B visa sponsorship for a qualified candidate currently residing in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products that meet customer requirements and Eaton commitments.
• Provide guidance and leadership to other technical project team members.
• Collaborate with global product teams to solve performance, safety, reliability and quality challenges.
• Develop real-time DSP algorithms for power conversion applications.
• Create simulations using MATLAB/Simulink and verify designs.
• Validate designs using fast prototyping and testbeds such as OPAL‑RT.
