Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications include five years of vehicle maintenance experience; ASE Master Certification and Class A CDL are strongly preferred. Competitive pay starts around $30.70/hour with benefits and potential shift differentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum five years in vehicle maintenance.
• Heavy-duty maintenance certificate may substitute for one year.
• Master ASE certification may substitute for two years.
• Competency in brakes, electrical, PMI, powertrain, and trailing equipment.
• ASE Master Certification and Class A CDL preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines and on-board computers.
• Experience with precision measurement tools and lifting devices.
• Able to lift components weighing ~110 pounds with assistance.
• Must possess necessary tools.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Operate manual or automatic transmissions.
• Paint and body work experience preferred.
• Team player with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, modifies and performs preventive maintenance inspections on fleet equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs or replacements on components.
• Adjust equipment for safe operation and document work.
• Mentor less-experienced technicians.
• Document maintenance in writing and electronically.
• Perform safety inspections and document results.
• Perform paint and body work when required.
