Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel tractor fleet, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure safe, reliable operations across the fleet.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, the ability to mentor teammates, and precise documentation. Starting pay is $36.17 per hour, with shift time 1500-2330 and eligibility for tool reimbursement and tuition support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience performing vehicle maintenance.
• Heavy-duty vehicle maintenance certificate may substitute for one year of experience.
• Master ASE certification may substitute additional two years of experience.
• Competency in brakes, electrical, PMI, powertrain, and trailing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, modifies and performs preventive maintenance inspections; troubleshoots fleet including tractors, trailers, forklifts.
• Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs or rebuilds components and systems.
• Makes adjustments for safe, efficient operation and documents work.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced technicians.
• Ensures accurate documentation of maintenance and completes reports.
