Job summary
FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers and forklifts. Use your heavy equipment experience or diesel mechanic education to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues and complete repairs.
The role involves advanced diagnostics, accurate documentation, and mentoring teammates while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. A High School Diploma or GED, 5+ years of experience, and ASE Master considerations are
Qualifications
- Five years of vehicle maintenance experience
- Master ASE certification may substitute for two years of experience
- Knowledge of brakes, electrical, PMI, powertrain, and trailing equipment
Responsibilities
- Repair, modify and perform preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts and other equipment
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on all systems
- Make adjustments for safe operation and document safety requirements
- Mentor less-experienced technicians
- Document maintenance in writing and electronically
- Conduct safety inspections of equipment
- Paint and body work as required
- Follow laws, regulations and company policies
- Perform other duties as required
