Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and documentation, with opportunities for ASE certifications and tuition reimbursement.

Starting pay is $30.70 per hour. Candidates may receive an additional $5.50 per hour for ASE Master Certification, plus a $1,000 annual tool reimbursement and shift differential pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• 1 year experience maintaining vehicles or equivalent vocational certificate.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications.
• Class A CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians in performing preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures proper and accurate documentation of all maintenance performed, completes reports in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Paint and body work on vehicles, as required.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
