Job summary

Cox Fleet in Indianapolis is seeking a Sr. Shop Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced diagnostics for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.

You will work with the Service Writer to ensure accurate estimates and part needs, while maintaining a safe work environment. The role requires 5 years in a related field, ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months, and a valid 21+ driver age.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' related field experience.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• Due to interstate operating authority, candidates must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections, PMs and repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.
• Investigate, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with Service Writer to assess customer needs and parts requirements; provide clear RO notes.
• Document work, parts used, and findings in the Repair Order using Karmak or company devices.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and productivity; travel to customer locations as needed.
