Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Shop Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a shop setting. You will diagnose complex issues, triage repairs, and support Shop Diesel Technician I/II with diagnostics and parts sourcing.

The role requires compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations, OSHA/EPA standards, and a valid driver’s license. Travel to customer sites may be required, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of related field experience, or equivalent combination and 3+ years experience preferred.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT regulations and FMCSA pre-employment requirements.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and Preventative Maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot complex mechanical/electrical systems.
• Order parts with the Parts Department and document RO findings with photos.
• Maintain safety and compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT guidelines.
• Travel to customer locations as needed and ensure timely completion of repairs.
