Job summary

Cox Fleet is currently hiring a Sr. Shop Diesel Technician to support growth. The role involves licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics on light to heavy-duty trucks in a shop setting.

You will work with the Shop Diesel Technician I/II and interact with the Parts Department to obtain required parts. The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED with 5 years of related experience, ASE T8 and 608/609 certifications, and the ability to travel to customer locations

Qualifications

• Requires DOT inspections and PM inspections experience.
• Proficient in advanced diagnostics and triage of complex repairs.
• Ability to interpret technical information and work with Service Writer to assess customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating practices and procedures.
• Independently determine parts required and coordinate with Parts Department.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist in end-of-day cleanup.
• Perform DOT inspections, PMs, and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles.
• Document work performed on Repair Orders with photos and RO notes.
• Complete DOT forms and other required documentation promptly.
• Maintain productivity within standard repair times and communicate with Shop Manager.
