Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Shop Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-heavy repairs under supervision.

You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, document findings on repair orders, and maintain tool inventories; occasional travel to customer sites may be required. Strong safety focus and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' related field experience, or equivalent combination.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT certification.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy objects.
• Proven mechanical skills and diagnostic capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform licensed DOT inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Conduct light, medium, and heavy-duty repairs and diagnostics.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Document work performed and parts used on repair orders.
• Travel to customer locations as needed.
• Assist senior technicians and service writers with estimates.
