Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is seeking a Sr Shop Diesel Technician to join our on-site team in the Indianapolis area. You will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Expect diagnostics, wiring and hydraulic/electrical work, plus coordinating with the parts team. You will document all findings, adhere to safety policies, and support shop operations with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with at least 5 years in a related field (or equivalent combo).
• ASE certification within 18 months (PMI/T8) as required.
• Must be 21+ due to interstate operating authority rules.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating procedures and company policies.
• Determine parts and coordinate with Parts Dept to obtain them.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and tools.
• Perform PM, DOT inspections, and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose using electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems.
• Communicate with Shop Manager for approvals on estimates and RO notes.
• Document work via RO with photos and parts used.
