Job summary

Republic Services in Maryland is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and service diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, and braking systems. Under supervision, you will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support our fleet in daily operations.

You’ll work with state-of-the-art equipment, receive ongoing training, and have opportunities for career growth within a stable, community-focused company that values safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Class 1-8 trucks or related equipment.
• ASE certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and performs preventive and repair maintenance on vehicle components and systems on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and associated hydraulic/electrical, braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line welding and fabrication as needed.
• Provides safe road service to return equipment to operation.
