Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in Maryland to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks on a single fleet with state-of-the-art technology. You will work under supervision to service chassis components, refuse bodies, HVAC, braking systems, engines, and more, supporting drivers on routes.

The role emphasizes safety, continuous training, and career growth in a stable industry.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-8 trucks or equivalent.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
• 3-5 years of technician experience or graduate from automotive college/technical school within the next 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, and control, hydraulic and electrical systems; air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line welding and fabrication.
• Provides road service when necessary to return equipment safely to operation.
• Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Completes required training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
