Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in Maryland to diagnose and repair diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brakes, HVAC, suspension and drive train. You’ll support drivers on routes and perform on-site and road repairs with state-of-the-art fleet equipment.

The role emphasizes ongoing training, safety, and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Experience with maintenance on Class 1-8 trucks or aircraft/ships.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience or recent graduation from an automotive program within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems, performing preventive and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; plus air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance; suspension, drivetrain and steering systems; HVAC.
• Performs line welding and fabrication; provides road service when needed.
• Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools and completes company training programs.
