Job summary

Sysco Central Alabama, Inc. seeks a skilled Fleet Technician to keep the company fleet safe, reliable, and on the road.

You will inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide range of vehicles and equipment, from tractors to reefers, ensuring adherence to federal and local regulations. The role requires strong knowledge of electrical and refrigeration systems, the ability to mentor others, and proficiency with diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ASE certifications in automotive or heavy-duty trucks preferred.
• EPA 608/609 HVAC refrigerant certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance within time tolerances.
• Conduct annual inspections on fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Maintain tractors, trailers, reefer units and related equipment.
• Repair to manufacturer specs for engines, transmissions and drivetrains.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on electrical, HVAC and hydraulic systems.
• Document all work on orders and reports.
• Mentor junior technicians and assist supervision when needed.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing and repairs.
• Comply with DOT/FMCSA, OSHA and environmental regulations.
