Job summary

Sysco Sacramento, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III to maintain a safe, reliable fleet through preventive maintenance and expert diagnostics.

You will inspect, repair, and service trucks and equipment, including reefer units, lift-gates, and drive-line components, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, welding capability, and the ability to mentor junior technicians while adhering to safety and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; valid driver's license.
• 2-year school and 4 years of experience OR 5 years fleet maintenance experience.
• ASE certifications, EPA 608/609 HVAC & Refrigeration certifications are preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles.
• Carry out annual inspections (FAI/CVI) per regulations.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I/II and assist in supervision when needed.
• Document all work on work orders.
