Job summary

Sysco seeks an experienced Fleet Technician to maintain and repair a diverse fleet, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure safety and reliability across all equipment.

Key duties include inspections, repairs to engines, transmissions, electrical and HVAC systems, and mentorship of junior technicians. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and OSHA safety expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL certification preferred but not required.
• 2-year school and 4 years of experience OR 5 years of fleet maintenance experience.
• ASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks.
• EPA Section 608/609 HVAC refrigeration certifications.
• Expert knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
• Proficient in diagnosis and repair of electrical and refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety and cost efficiency.
• Carry out annual inspections on fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, steering, brakes, HVAC and electrical systems.
• Document all work on work orders and follow procedures.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I & II; assist Fleet Manager when needed.
• Complete electrical repairs and welding projects as required.
