Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance and expert repairs on our fleet. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair engines, electrical systems, HVAC/refrigeration and other major components to minimize downtime and keep vehicles safe and compliant.

The role requires hands-on expertise with medium to heavy-duty trucks, adherence to DOT and EPA regulations, and a proactive approach to mentoring less experienced technicians.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; ASE certifications preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years in medium/heavy-duty fleet maintenance or equivalent.
• Certifications: ASE or EPA certifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment to maximize safety and reliability.
• Carry out repairs on engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration units as required.
• Diagnose malfunctions, document work orders, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Operate and test electrical systems and perform welding as needed.
• Mentor junior technicians and follow safety procedures at all times.
