Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC seeks a skilled Fleet Technician to maintain and repair a broad range of fleet vehicles and equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include annual inspections, electrical and refrigeration repairs, and mentoring junior technicians. A CDL is preferred but not required, and candidates must meet strong DOT/OSHA regulatory knowledge requirements.

Qualifications

• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 2-year school plus 4 years in fleet maintenance OR 5 years of fleet repair experience.
• Annual Inspector, Brake Inspector certifications; ASE certifications; EPA 608/609 HVAC & Refrigeration.
• Ability to diagnose and repair all vehicle systems to manufacturer specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Conduct annual (FAI/CVI) inspections on tractors, trailers, dollies and related equipment.
• Repair and diagnose engines, transmissions, driveline, electrical, brake, HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Document work performed on work orders and follow company procedures.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I & II; support supervision when needed.
• Operate electrical meters and use OEM diagnostic software for repairs.
