Job summary

Sysco Kansas City, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III to maintain a safe, reliable fleet and reduce downtime. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair complex systems on tractors, trailers, and equipment, including refrigeration units.

Expect work order documentation, mentoring, and adherence to DOT and EPA standards. Role requires strong electrical and diagnostic skills, experience with preventive maintenance, and the ability to perform welding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CDL preferred but not required.
• 2 years of school and 4 years of experience OR 5 years of fleet maintenance and repair experience.
• Annual Inspector Certification and Brake Inspector Certification; ASE certifications; EPA 608/609 HVAC & Refrigeration certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Conduct Annual (FAI/CVI) inspections on tractors, trailers, and other equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to OEM specifications across engines, transmissions, electrical, HVAC, and other systems.
• Follow work orders and document all work performed; mentor junior fleet technicians.
