Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking a Fleet Technician to provide safe, reliable maintenance and expert diagnosis to prevent road breakdowns. The role covers inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs across engines, transmissions, HVAC, and refrigeration components.

The ideal candidate has 2-year heavy-duty truck tech training or equivalent, along with 4–5 years in fleet maintenance. CDL is preferred but not required. A comprehensive benefits package is available.

Qualifications

• 2-year tech school in heavy-duty trucks or equivalent.
• 4 years of fleet maintenance/repair experience or 5 years
• CDL preferred but not required
• High school diploma or GED
• Annual Inspector Certification knowledge and abilities

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances.
• Perform Annual inspections on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers and other equipment per regulations.
• Perform quality maintenance repairs to maximize safety and reliability.
• Diagnose cause of malfunctions and repair to manufacturer specs (engines, transmission, HVAC, brakes, etc.).
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups timely and efficiently.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I/II to aid in development and may assume supervisor duties when needed.
