Job summary

Sysco in Concord, NC is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers and equipment, including reefers, to maximize safety, reliability and cost efficiency. Responsibilities include inspections, troubleshooting, documenting work orders, and mentoring junior technicians; occasional supervisory duties when managers are unavailable.

A valid driver’s license is required, CDL preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL preferred, not required.
• Medium/Heavy Duty truck tech training.
• 2 years of schooling plus 4 years experience or 5 years fleet experience.
• ASE certifications and EPA 608/609 HVAC certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles within planned time tolerances.
• Complete annual FAI/CVI inspections on tractors, trailers, and equipment per regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize safety and reliability.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair engines, transmissions, electrical, HVAC and related systems.
• Document work on work orders and mentor junior technicians.
• May perform moderate supervisory roles when Fleet Manager or Supervisors are unavailable.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing and diagnostic procedures.
• ADhere to DOT/FMCSA, OSHA and environmental regulations.
