Job summary

Sysco Alaska is seeking a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and expert repairs on our diesel fleet to minimize downtime and maximize safety.

You will diagnose issues across engines, transmissions, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and lifting equipment, document work orders, mentor junior techs, and work in a fast-paced outdoor environment with variable hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred, Not Required).
• 2-year school and 4 years of experience OR 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
• Annual Inspector Certification; Brake Inspector Certification; ASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks.
• EPA Section 608 (Core & Type II) and 609 HVAC & Refrigeration Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the life cycle of the fleet.
• Perform Annual (FAI/CVI) inspections on tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and other equipment per regulations.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems to manufacturer specifications.
• Document all work performed on work orders and mentor junior Fleet Technician I and II as needed.
• Assist with welding and minor supervisory duties when Supervisors are unavailable.
