Job summary

Sysco Corp. in Houston is seeking a Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections and expert diagnosis on tractors, trailers and related equipment to minimize downtime and maximize safety.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing engines, transmissions, electrical and HVAC systems, documenting work orders, and mentoring junior technicians. CDL is preferred but not required; the role may involve short supervisory duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training 2-year school and 4 years of experience or 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair
• High school diploma or GED required
• Current and valid driver's license (CDL Preferred, Not Required)

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize safety and reliability
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, electrical, HVAC, and lift-gate systems
• Follow work orders and document all work performed
• Mentor and aid Fleet Technician I/II in their development
• May perform moderate supervisory roles when Fleet Manager or Fleet Supervisors are not accessible
