Job summary

Sysco Houston is hiring a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III to provide safe, reliable maintenance and expert diagnostics for our fleet. You will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on tractors, trailers, and related equipment while ensuring compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.

The role requires 2-year tech training with several years of fleet experience or 5 years in the field, along with ASE/EPA certifications where possible; CDL is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical training plus 4 years of fleet maintenance experience, or 5 years equivalent experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred, not required).
• ASE certifications (preferred) and EPA 608/609 refrigeration certs are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Perform FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, and electrical systems per manufacturer specs.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I/II to develop capabilities.
