Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced fleet mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on our vehicle fleet. This role focuses on safety, reliability, and minimizing downtime with a strong emphasis on code-able documentation and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has medium/heavy-duty training, a valid driver’s license, and hands-on experience with electrical systems and OEM diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• 2-year truck technical training plus experience or 3+ years in fleet maintenance and repair.
• High school diploma or GED; valid driver’s license.
• Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles within planned time tolerances.
• Complete annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on tractors, trailers and associated equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs per manufacturer specs.
• Document work on work orders and learn Sysco computer programs.
• Carry out electrical and welding repairs as needed.
• Adhere to safety and regulatory requirements.
