Job summary

Sysco Eastern Maryland, LLC is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and expert repairs on our commercial fleet. You will diagnose issues, conduct inspections, and ensure safety and reliability of tractors, trailers, and related equipment.

The role requires medium to heavy-duty truck training, 2+ years of experience, and a valid driver’s license. Second shift options available with competitive benefits and a boot/tool allowance.

Qualifications

• Education: Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training; High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-year school and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
• Current and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles within planned time tolerances to maximize safety and cost efficiency.
• Perform annual (FAI/CVI) inspections on all fleet vehicles as required by law and company policy.
• Perform quality maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, lift-gates and related equipment to ensure reliability.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical and HVAC systems per manufacturer specs.
• Document all work performed on work orders and use Sysco computer programs.
• Learn and develop efficiency with Sysco computer programs and diagnostic tools.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing and basic welding/cutting as needed.
