Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team in Columbia, MD. The role focuses on Kubernetes orchestration, AWS infrastructure, and automation to ensure scalable, reliable services.

The ideal candidate brings TS/SCI clearance, 9+ years in DevOps or software development, and strong leadership capabilities. On-site work five days a week with opportunities for growth and impact.

Qualifications

• 9+ years DevOps or software dev experience with Bachelor’s degree; or 7+ years with Master’s; or 13 years with HS diploma.
• Strong knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes or similar).
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible for config management.
• Experience deploying and managing AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
• Programming in Python, Bash, or Go; comfortable in terminal.
• Experience with Git, Flux, and related dev/ops tools.
• Excellent problem solving and communication; AGILE experience.
• Experience leading/mentoring engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud infrastructure deployment in AWS, especially EKS.
• Automate deployment processes for reliable, scalable services.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure in AWS.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate apps into infra.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production systems.
• Mentor and guide engineers; lead when needed.
• Stay current with new tech and best practices.
