Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Senior Development Project Manager (Data Center Construction) to lead design, preconstruction and construction on multiple campuses. You will interact daily with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, Engineers, and Operations staff, maintaining budgets and schedules for executive reviews.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to create master development programs, manage entitlements, and oversee procurement, while driving cost control and timely delivery of campus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Five or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures, including management of Lump Sum, Construction Management @ Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods from conceptual development through procurement to close out.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint for use in communicating program updates to executive level, and Excel to create and maintain site program & individual project budgets.
• Be able to travel as needed for the business.
• MBA or Masters in Engineering/Management desirable.
• Experience with delivery of mission critical data center facilities.
• Extensive experience with management of MEP trades.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage design, preconstruction and construction activities on multiple projects.
• Create and communicate updates on development program & project status for executive reviews.
• Develop master development program for sites including campus design solutions and capital budgets.
• Manage entitlements, permitting, and phased site development plans to meet time, budget and quality targets.
• Review and negotiate pricing and manage procurement and cost estimates.
• Establish project schedules and lead teams to on-time completion.
• Represent QTS in OAC meetings and liaise with key stakeholders.
• Assist in due diligence for potential new sites and improve project management processes.
