Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead long-span and complex bridge projects across the Americas. You will engage with clients, direct analysis and design, and supervise multi-disciplinary teams while ensuring project quality, schedule, and budget.

Requirements include a Master’s in structural engineering, a PE license with multi-state eligibility (SE desirable), and 15+ years of experience as Engineer of Record or Lead Engineer. Hybrid work and competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in structural engineering or a related discipline.
• PE License with ability to obtain license in multiple states; SE license desirable.
• Minimum of fifteen years of demonstrated professional experience as Engineer of Record or Lead Engineer.
• Experience in long-span and complex bridge projects.
• Proven leadership on multi-discipline design teams and client interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of highway and rail/transit design codes and standards.
• Proficient with Design-Build and alternative project delivery methods.
• Established professional network within client and contractor communities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior Technical/Task Lead on national long-span and complex bridge projects.
• Sign and seal contract documents, ensuring code compliance and quality.
• Lead design teams, plan staffing, and coordinate multi-office execution.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and client interfaces.
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and cost estimating.
• Mentor staff and promote technical best practices.
