Job summary

Jacobs seeks a senior structural engineer to lead long-span and complex bridge projects across the Americas, engaging with clients, performing advanced analysis, and guiding design teams to deliver contract documents that meet codes and standards.

You will sign and seal documents as appropriate, coordinate multi-office staff, and contribute to business development, estimating costs, and contract negotiations while mentoring junior engineers in a hybrid US work environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in structural engineering or related discipline.
• PE license with ability to obtain license in multiple states; SE license desirable.
• Minimum of fifteen years of professional experience including Engineer of Record or Lead Engineer.
• Experience in long-span and complex bridge design and related specialisms.
• Proficient with design codes and bridge software (listed).

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams on long-span and complex bridge projects.
• Sign and seal contract documents where appropriate and ensure code compliance.
• Plan, direct and coordinate staff across multi-office projects.
• Mentor staff and guide technical best practices.
• Engage with clients, participate in BD activities, and support negotiations.
