A leading university is seeking a Senior Dental Assistant to supervise and train dental assistants while providing direct patient care. The role involves preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and performing clerical duties. Required Qualifications: As per Civil Service standards and specifications. Must have taken and passed the specific job-related Civil Service exam and be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service list. The Civil Service list for this position might provide insufficient acceptors; therefore, a provisional appointment may be made. Any provisional appointee will be required to take, pass, and be reachable on the next Civil Service examination to be permanently appointed.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional years of experience as a dental assistant in an academic setting, including training dental assistant students to become professional dental assistants. At least one year of operating room Dental Assistant experience.
*Incumbents of positions that perform sterilization duties may be required to possess current certification by a nationally accredited central sterile technician credentialing organization as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or a substantially equivalent credential.

Special Notes: This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for overtime provisions. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Mandatory rehire roster candidates have preference. SG 10 Hiring Rate $45,081. This position includes location pay of $4,000 per year and Geographic Pay of $6,000 per year.
