Job summary

Intellisense Systems, Inc. in Torrance, CA seeks a Director of Business Development to own customer engagement from first contact to contract award.

You will shape capture strategy, build executive-level relationships, and lead proposals for DoD and commercial opportunities across sensing, processing, displays, and power management. The role requires a 10+ year track record in complex technical environments, DoD process knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 50% while maintaining a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, computer science or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 10+ years in business development, capture, or industrial sales in technical environments.
• Proven record of capturing/contracts in the $1M-20M+ range.
• Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, ITAR, and export-control rules.
• Proposal development and writing experience; basic contracting/negotiation skills.
• Strong leadership, presentation, and communication with senior stakeholders.
• Full-time presence at Torrance, CA facility; travel up to 50% and US citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Drive a data-driven pipeline of DoD and commercial opportunities across multiple product lines.
• Own capture strategy, shape requirements ahead of RFP, develop win themes and price-to-win.
• Build trusted relationships with senior program office leaders and prime contractors.
• Forecast and analyze markets to define future programs and budget lines.
• Represent Intellisense at trade shows, industry days, and customer forums.
• Manage portfolio and report progress with disciplined forecasting.
• Travel as needed to close deals and support engagements.
