Job summary

Intellisense Systems, Inc. is seeking a Director of Business Development in Torrance, CA to own the customer engagement from first contact through contract award. Lead a data-driven pipeline across DoD and commercial markets and shape capture strategies with senior stakeholders.

The role requires 10+ years in BD/capture, DoD process knowledge, and up to 50% travel with onsite presence in Torrance. A bachelor’s in engineering or related field is required; advanced degrees are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 10+ years of business development, capture, or industrial sales experience in complex environments.
• Proven track record of capturing and closing contracts in the $1M-$20M+ range.
• Working knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, government contracting vehicles, ITAR, and U.S. export-control requirements.
• Proposal development and writing experience, along with basic contracting and negotiation skills.
• Strong leadership, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief senior military and executive stakeholders.
• Full-time presence at Torrance, CA facility, is required except when on travel.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance for which U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive a qualified, data-driven pipeline across DoD and commercial customers; own bookings and revenue.
• Own capture strategy for priority pursuits; shape requirements and drive proposals to contract award.
• Build direct relationships with senior leaders in program offices, primes, and government decision-makers.
• Drive strategic planning, market analysis, and forecasting across defense and commercial sectors.
• Be the face of Intellisense in the field at trade shows and customer forums.
• Manage and forecast a portfolio of accounts and opportunities with discipline.
• Travel to close the deal and support engagements.
