Job summary

CTG is seeking a Senior DB2 Database Administrator with OpenShift expertise to support, design, and migrate DB2 environments across z/OS and LUW. The role involves tuning, backup/recovery, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to modernize databases.

Responsibilities include leading on-premises DB2 to OpenShift migrations, performing SQL tuning, and ensuring high availability and performance within OpenShift/Kubernetes ecosystems. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

7+ years of DB2 database administration experience.
Hands-on experience with DB2/Db2U in OpenShift or Kubernetes.
Proven experience migrating on-prem DB2 databases to Red Hat OpenShift.

Responsibilities

Administer and support DB2 databases across z/OS and/or LUW environments.
Design, build, migrate, configure, tune, and maintain DB2 databases.
Lead or support on-premises DB2 to OpenShift migrations as part of modernization initiatives.
Perform SQL development, database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and problem resolution.
Manage database jobs and maintenance using CRON, ESP scheduling.
Troubleshoot DB2 and OpenShift performance, availability, and stability issues.
Partner with application, infrastructure, and platform teams throughout migration and production support.
Support IBM Q Replication (QREP), preferred.
